Outrageous Silliness
If you’ve been following the news (yes, even the liberal main stream guys) you’re prob’ly suffering from apoplexy. There, that’s your $25 word for the day.
Prez O sez that the White House is in charge of the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. “This entire White House and this federal government has been singularly focused on how do we stop the leak and how do we prevent and mitigate the damage to our coastlines,” Obama said. Does that mean to the exclusion of everything else? I think not. “From the moment this disaster began, the federal government has been in charge of the response effort,” Obama said. “BP is operating at our direction.” Oh, really? The Sultan of Spin looks foolish this time.
Oh, and he didn’t know whether the director of the Federal Minerals Management Service, Elizabeth Birnbaum, had resigned or had been fired. He claimed that he had only heard about it the same day, indicating that Interior Secretary Ken Salazar was responsible for the situation.
I’m beginning to see the difference between a community organizer and a CEO. The community organizer charismatically rallies the troops to enlist in a cause and then entrusts the accomplishment of the cause to them. A CEO similarly inspires those he/she leads to share the vision and to accomplish the goals/objectives set; but, the CEO inspects what he/she expects. In other words, daily accountability is enforced. Prez O hasn’t defined his vision because it prob’ly wouldn’t be shared by the majority of We the People. He hasn’t defined goals/objectives because they wouldn’t be received well. He operates in the ether, using double entende’ and giving We the People koolaid to drink. Well, enough koolaid, thank you.
Recently (read January 10) Rep Joe Sestak, R-PA, claimed that he was offered a high-ranking job in the White House if he would step out of the PA race against Arlen Specter D-PA. Much flap over the veracity of Sestak. Yesterday, Prez O said the White House would issue a formal explanation that should answer questions about Sestak’s allegation of a job offer and insisted “nothing improper” happened. He then had lunch with former President Bill Clinton. Huh? Today, the story is a bit different. Today, a report, by the White House Counsel’s office, will describe the Clinton conversations as informal and unhinged from any precise job offer since, as a former president, Clinton could not guarantee Sestak anything; and, that the conversations with Sestak were initiated by Clinton at the behest of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Therefore, “nothing improper” happened. Oh, really? Let me see if I can find an analogy: If I ask my bro-in-law to ask a madam if they “might” visit my house to perform services for me, yet doesn’t detail what services are expected, have I done “nothing improper”? You know the answer.
Yesterday, the House has passed, on party line vote, a bill repealing DADT. This in spite of all sorts of recommendations to at least pend the legislation until further studies can be made. Look for more craziness from the Dems.
And, finally, “Emergency” funding will become the buzzword of the day for the Pols because it excludes whatever spending from the Pay As You Go guidelines, which only apply to “ordinary” spending. The fear (justifiably) of the Dems that they will lose their majority in November will continue to drive them to ridiculous actions.Lord, help us all.
Enuf. I’m getting sick to my stomach.
On this day in history: 1754 - George Washington faces first combat as British soldier1937 - Government of Germany founds Volkswagen; 1957 - Baseball owners vote to allow Dodgers and Giants to move from NY
On a positive note: Ruth Shivers’ instructor and best friend cheered her on as she jumped out of a plane at 5,000 feet, completing the last item on her original bucket list. The 80-year-old California woman sez “you’re never too old to take flight” Good on you, Ruth!
Blessings.
