Susan B. Anthony and Tim Tebow

Susan B. Anthony may be hailed in history books for her efforts on behalf of women’s suffrage, however, it is—unfortunately—a lesser-known fact that she was just as outspoken for the rights of preborn babies, and the damages of abortion.

Referring to children in the womb as the “unborn innocent,” Anthony—in one of her Revolution publications—notes the toll of abortion’s aftermath on the woman and the shared responsibility of the man in the situation. “…[abortion] will burden her conscience in life, it will burden her soul in death; But oh, thrice guilty is he who drove her to the desperation which impelled her to the crime!” she wrote.

Said Anthony, “Sweeter even than to have had the joy of caring for children of my own has it been to me to help bring about a better state of things for mothers generally, so their unborn little ones could not be willed away from them.”     Aimee Herd - Breaking Christian News

So, why don’t the suffragettes acknowledge the pro-life protagonism of Ms. Anthony? You know the answer: It’s not politically convenient to their cause.

And, why haven’t the loud-mouthed who fussed over the Focus on the Family/Tim Tebow ad before it was aired continuing to voice their ire? The same reason. It isn’t convenient to continue to voice protests against the innocuous ads. So, politics carries on.

“There are those, of course, who claim we must give up freedom in exchange for economic progress. Well, pardon me, but anyone trying to sell you that line is no better than a three-card-trick man. One thing becoming more clear every day is that freedom and progress go hand in hand. Throughout the developing world, people are rejecting socialism because they see that it doesn’t empower people, it impoverishes them.” –Ronald Reagan

On this day in history:1923 - King Tut’s tomb opened by English archeologist; 1984 - Bill Johnson is first American to win Olympic gold for skiing; 1959 - Fidel Castro sworn in as prime minister of Cuba

On a positive note: Pets for Vets matches homeless pets with veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder or brain injuries and are giving second chances both to people and animals.
