Orcinus Orca Exploited
Ok, the Orca which killed the trainer is back performing. There seems to be two diametrically-opposed viewpoints about the whale: euthanasia or let it live and release into the wild. But, both of these have a base assumption that the whale did something wrong. Nosirreebob … the whale was just being a whale, in my opinion. So, I’m of the second persuasion. But, I’m definitely irked by the Show’s owners decision to continue to feature the whale. Why? It’s about the money. Oh, they have other reasons, but the bottom line is … well … the bottom line. The only possible reason to continue using the Orca in the show is to capitalize on the situation. Bill O’Reilly would call them Pinheads. I agree.
BTW, an Orcinus Orca, or killer whale, is not a whale at all, but a dolphin. And, the name got polluted from “whale killer”. Of course, it is a huge fish, but still, not a whale. Is there a parallel between Rino’s and Dino’s and Orca’s? You decide.
Young adults are swaying from organized religion, so says Berkeley professors Michael Hout and Claude Fischer in their 2002 study. “We seek to explain why American adults became increasingly likely to express no religious preference as the 1990s unfolded. Briefly summarized, we find that the increase was not connected to a loss of religious piety, and that it was connected to politics. In the 1990s many people who had weak attachments to religion and either moderate or liberal political views found themselves at odds with the conservative political agenda of the Christian Right and reacted by renouncing their weak attachment to organized religion.” So, let me get this straight. Christian Right’s positions on most issues are conservative and ideally focus on the welfare of the whole country, while the Left’s position is mostly “Do it if it feels good” and “Do your own thing.” So, it appears that leaning Left, focusing on yourself, letting others do what they want for themselves has led our country toward “all for one and one for all” attitudes toward wealth and health. Not a good thing. We need the Conservatism of our Founding Fathers. And, yes, they were predominatly “religious” and based our Constitution’s principles on Judeo-Christian principles. Let’s take back our country. But, the old geezers don’t have the energy or the numbers anymore. We need the young people to wise up and become the new We the People for the Constitution of the UsofA.
Lawmakers repeatedly refused to accept Toyota President Akio Toyoda’s apologies during the recent meeting. Or, maybe I should say, lynching. Since the, admittedly, faulty Toyota’s have been uncovered, many automakers have issued recalls; we’re hearing none of that. Might it be that the Government owns Chrysler and GM and need the sales benefit? Follow the money. Toyota’s actively seeking repair solutions, as are the other automakers. I refuse to believe that Toyota has a product philosophy which encourages shoddy workmanship. Let’ move on and stop the posturing and name-calling.
