Who To Believe?

Posted by Alan Stanley on Jan 25, 2010 in January '10

That is the real Q: Who to believe? The Dems would have you believe that they hold the keys to the physical welfare of We the People, and world-wide appreciation for the USofA by all Nations. The Reps would have you believe that they hold the keys to fundamental application of our Constitution and the protection of the USofA from all Nations. Prez O would have you believe that he, and he alone, knows what’s best for us, even tho’ we don’t get it, and will stay with his socialist agenda, both for the USofA and for the world.  (The State of the Union Address on Wed eve will be interesting. Especially after the Dem defeat in MA.) Notice the differences among these ideas. But, I’m sure that your tenets have already helped you do this.

The human psyche is so complex. Hold on now, I’m getting to the segue’. We form and hold closely to our beings certain tenets which help form who we are and how we respond to life’s circumstances. Those tenets are nearly impossible to sway, much less replace. So in MA (the segue’) the defeat of Marsha Coakley is seen by Dems and Reps entirely differently and have reacted according to their basic tenets. Their belief systems (paradigms, not religious) require them to see the defeat in different lights. But, who to believe? Neither.

The objective, not-partisan observer sees things yet differently and discards the items of distraction, such as Brown’s pick-up truck and Coakley’s Schilling faux pas and Brown’s vs. Coakley’s personna. The salient issue is this: the people of MA do not like their state-run health care system and do not want to be under a similar national system. Period. I’ll not rant here about the details, but in general the system is more expensive and gives worse care than private enterprise health systems. We the People do not want Uncle to tell us how to take care of our health. We can do that quite nicely, thank you.

So, who to believe? Believe your own sense of what’s right and your own ability to decipher the facts; and not the “news” as you’re being fed by the media. Get on the internet and fish for answers. Listen to more views of the news than just your favorite talking head. Weigh all the opinions and facts. Form your own convictions. Then, it’s you who to believe.

On this day in history: 1919 - League of Nations, fore-runner to United Nations, commissioned by Big Five; 1924 - First Winter Olympics held in French Alps; 1961 - JFK conducts first live TV news conference

On a positive note: Rock-a-bye baby is instinctive to mothers, right? No, I mean really hard-wired into moms. Both moms and babes respond well to rocking. We all know that. Now researchers have determined that if in-vitro embryos are gently rocked, the fertilization success rate increases by 20%. So, our Creator programmed both the mother and the embryo to naturally respond to rocking. What wonderful planning and execution!
